When legions of monsters known as kaizen up from the sea depths, the war that took millions of lives and reduce the "human resources" to almost zero in just a few years had been started. To combat the aliens had established a special weapon: huge robots called Jaeger, they were controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose consciousness connected with neural connections. But even Jaeger were almost powerless in the face of relentless kaizen. On the verge of defeat the defenders of humanity has no choice but to turn to two dubious heroes - to former pilot and inexperienced trainee - who have come together to lead into battle once legendary but now obsolete Jaeger. Together, they are the only hope of mankind, the last obstacle before the impending apocalypse.
